About SortShelf

SortShelf is a local-first media organizer built to make sorting large collections of photos, screenshots, GIFs, and videos fast and painless.

Instead of digging through folders in File Explorer and moving files one at a time, SortShelf combines a visual media library with a rapid sorting workflow. Add the folders you already use, browse everything from one place, and organize incoming or unsorted media into the Albums where it belongs.

Browse your media like a library

SortShelf creates a visual library from your existing folders without forcing you into a proprietary storage system. Your Albums and subalbums correspond to real folders on your computer, so your files remain accessible normally even when SortShelf isn't running.

Browse thumbnails, drill into Albums and subalbums, preview images, animated GIFs, and supported videos, search your collection, filter results, mark Favorites, or use Random Memory to rediscover something you've forgotten about.

Sort without the busywork

Have a folder full of unsorted phone photos, screenshots, downloads, or camera files? Add it as an Inbox and start a Sort Session.

SortShelf presents your media one item at a time. Choose where it belongs and immediately move on to the next item. Frequently used destinations can be assigned keyboard shortcuts, while every other destination remains available by clicking or searching.

Choose exactly which sources and destinations you want for each session, then sort as much—or as little—as you want.

Your files stay your files

SortShelf doesn't upload your media to Paris Interactive or require you to hand your collection over to a cloud service.

Your media stays on your computer, in your folders. SortShelf simply gives you a better way to browse and organize it.
